[edit] Rules

The Fun Tournament's rules refer to the World TTR League Rules with following special features:

1) All games are played on the US map by two players.

2) As this is a fun event, there won't be a TD, all players will solve their problems on their own, please.

3) As this is a fun event, all games are to be played unrated and observable, if you play rated ... your own fault!

4) As there is no variant ranking, seeding list will be randomized in challonge.

5) Number of groups in dependence on number of participating players

6) Order of starting: First game is to be started randomly, the next three games, starting player will alternate, fifth game is to be started randomly again.

7) Order of played variants: For better overview all matches will have the same order of variants: 1st game: no5no6, 2nd game: draw open, 3rd game: 8+ no more, 4th game: 5 tixs mini, 5th game: snake

8) SPECIAL RULES FOR THE VARIANTS:

  • NO 5 OR 6:
    • You are NOT allowed to lay 5er or 6er tracks the whole game.
    • Counting as usual, unrated.
    • Penalty: Draw 2 (in words: two and only two) tickets THE VERY NEXT turn (in other words draw two of the three offered tix), if you lay a 5er or 6er track (this has to be a penalty ;)). The track points you get by wrongly played 5er or 6er track count!
    • SPECIAL CASE: If your opponent closes the game and you take a 5er or 6er track in your very last turn (with no time to take your 2 penalty tickets) you lose the game, irrespective of the points of this game, if your opponent says "penalty" before he takes his last turn!
  • DRAW OPEN:
    • You may ONLY draw open colors, the stack is NOT an option throughout the whole game.
    • Watch out, you need to concentrate to not ever take from the stack!
    • Counting as usual, unrated.
    • Penalty: Draw 1 (and only 1) ticket the next turn, if you draw from the stack.
  • 8+ NO MORE:
    • The number of color cards you have is limited to 10 for all the game.
    • As soon as your opponent see "8+", (so when you have 9 or 10 color cards), you must lay a track (or draw for tickets) in the next turn. So, if you have 8 cards, you can pick what you want, but if you have 9 cards, you ARE NOT ALLOWED to pick anything
    • Counting as usual, unrated.
    • Penalty: Draw 1 (and only 1) ticket the next turn (and of course then play a track in the turn after), if you have picked one or 2 cards when you already had 8+ cards.
  • 5 TIX MIN:
    • Draw tickets till you got at least 5, then and only then go ahead and take colors or lay tracks.
    • Counting as usual, unrated.
    • Penalty: Draw 1 (and only 1) ticket more, if you start laying tracks or taking color cards before you have 5 tix.
  • SNAKE:
    • While not common in 2p, yes, this is snake - you are only allowed to build one continuous track (like in mobile game snake), extension is possible on both endings.
    • Snake as "in one single track snake", in other words if the snake bites it's tail you may continue ANYWHERE(!) from that circle (same with double-circle or more circles).
    • Counting as usual, unrated.
    • Penalty: Draw 2 (in words: two and only two) tickets THE VERY NEXT turn (in other words draw two of the three offered tix), if you lay a track not connected to your snake rightly - play on with your initial snake.
    • SPECIAL CASE: If you lay a track not connected to your snake rightly in your last turn (with no time to take your 2 penalty tickets) you lose the game, irrespective of the points of this game, if your opponent says "penalty" before you start the next game.

9) Penalties: If your opponent plays in an inconsistent way to the variant's rule, you have to say "PENALTY" or something like that BEFORE your very next turn! Then and only then, your opponent has to take one or two tixs in his next turn (depending of the variant).
A playing of penalty-tactics (like making turns with the intension of breaking the rules) is ALLOWED - SO ALWAYS WATCH YOUR OPPONENT'S WAY TO PLAY AND DON'T CLICK TOO FASTLY - AND ALWAYS CRY OUT "PENALTY" IN CASES...
For all variants : if you don't take your penalty the very next turn (or if you can't, because it's the last turn), you lose the game.

10) Ties count and will be considered like half point for both players, even in Play Offs.

11) In the case of a tie after the five games in the Play Offs: a 6th game will be played with the variant chosen by the higher seeded player or rather the player that plays for the higher seeded player (seeding here means the slot of the seeding list reached - if you are seeded on 5 for example and reach place 1 in group A, you play the slot of the player seeded as # 1) and the starting for the lower seeded player. If a 7th game is needed, a different variant should be chosen by the lower seeded player and the higher seeded will start and so on - no variant can be chosen 3rd time before 11th game.

12) Points in the Round Robin: all games count. World TTR League rules apply: 1 point for each game win (0.5 for ties) and 2 extra points for a series win (1 for a tied series).

13) Tie-Breaker in Round Robin: 1. points won, 2. matches won, 3. direct match(es) of all players with equal points, 4. games won.
