Winner and WTLS1-Superhero is ... Pegaso

nominations and players

bold = did sign in

  • U 31 as the one and only to score 7-0 match wins.
  • Pegaso for a record 47 points and 6.70 points per match.
  • Hecki for the worst season 1 performance luck of all 3000+-rated players and a remarkable 2.71 points per match.
  • Marschall Vorw√§rts for two reasons: trying hard to catch up after a long time without internet connection and for the longest name of all season 1 players (made me set ticki tables columns width larger than in other groups).
  • U 32 as first to finish all her matches.
  • Tyrana for playing and winning the first World League Match ever.
  • Rufuz for closest missing a division's first place since she tied with RMarkes.
  • DerNeusser for heavy help with the ticki page, especially with match pages and lots of screenshots, while not even playing season 1.
  • Last not least: Wildfire. But unluckily he is hindered. Looks like we have the first nominee for season 2 heroes.

As a nice sidenote: these are seven players from seven different divisions (all but A), plus Neusser.

how it works

  • First of all: have fun!
  • Bookmark or keep open this page and check back during the event for updates.
  • Since this is a fun event and hopefully gets some spectators: all games open and please name them "HEROES ...".
  • Does it surprise you? First all 8 players play a round robin, much like in the league divisions. Each playing one game (just one) against everyone else. And below is a rather familiar table. That's 7 games for everyone in the round, which should take about 1.5 hours.
  • The players are assigned (using a very elaborate mechanism) a number at the start of the round robin (I will then update the table with the names). After that the playing order is already preset. For example the first 4 pairs are player 1-2, 3-4, 5-6, 7-8. See below the table.
  • All games are US map 2 player games. Some games will be normal games. Some will be (more or less) surprise rules. Therefor do not play ahead until the type of game is announced.
  • The two most heroic of the nominated heroes play a final best-of-five to determine the superhero. Finalist and also places 5 to 8 are determined 1st by number of games won and in case of ties 2nd by points score difference and in case even that might be a tie by 3rd most points scored.
  • For the final, same as for the round: some normal games, some odd games.
  • Last not least: have fun!

games types played

  • snake:
    • While not common in 2p, yes, this is snake.
    • Snake as "in one single track snake", in other words if the snake bites it's tail you may continue anywhere(!) from that circle.
    • Counting as usual, unrated.
  • 5 ticks min / 8 ticks min:
    • Draw tickets till you got at least 5 / 8, then and only then go ahead and take colors or lay tracks.
    • Counting as usual, rated.
  • normal 2p
  • 3 no choice:
    • Keep all 3 tickets!
    • Counting as usual, rated.
  • 8+ no more:
    • The number of colors cards you have is limited for all the game.
    • As soon as you have 8+ (that is 9 or 10) color cards, you must lay a track (or draw for tickets) in the next turn!
    • In other words if you already have 8+ you are NOT allowed to draw color cards.
    • Penalty: If you do, and the opponents notices, you have to draw for tickets in the next turn (and of course then play a track in the next turn).
    • Counting as usual, rated.
  • ticket fiend:
    • Bonus +50 for the most tickets made (no bonus if tied).
    • Since the +50 are calculated from your final score: unrated.
  • too much left:
    • For every color cards you hold at the end of the game you get a penalty of -10 points.
    • Longbot?
    • Since score is changed by the penalty: unrated.
  • draw open:
    • You may ONLY draw open colors, the stack is NOT an option throughout the whole game.
    • Watch out, you need to concentrate to not ever take from the stack! If you do, this are the penalties:
    • First time (one or two) cards taken from stack (the opponent needs to note): no penalty.
    • Second and all further times: draw for tickets in the next turn.
    • Counting as usual, rated.
  • 3 to block:
    • You have to keep all 3 tickets from the initial offer, no choice!
    • For every ticket not made you get an additional penalty (in addition to the minus from the ticket) of 30 points!
    • Watch out: this may be a blockers game, because if you miss one, you are practically dead.
    • Since the eventual -30 are calculated from your final score: unrated.
